Request for Mount Hope Cemetery Information

The City of Dahlonega, Georgia is seeking to confirm its deed and burial records for Mount Hope Cemetery (Mt. Hope) and asks for help from families with Dahlonega/Lumpkin history and connections. This effort does NOT relate to gravesites in Memorial Park Cemetery or other cemeteries in Lumpkin County.

This effort does NOT seek photographs of family members, photos of gravesites or stories about departed loved ones. At this time we are confirming the completeness of our deed records and seeking to fill some possible gaps. Our aim is to be able to provide an online searchable database for this historic property over the next year or so.

If you have or know of personal family deed records related to Mt. Hope Cemetery, please collect them, make a copy and mail them with your name, phone number and address to City Hall to the attention of Cemetery Committee at 465 Riley Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
